Ben Vos is a youth pastor at Trinity Church in Orange City, Iowa, where he has served for 12 years. Ben is married to Lisa, and together they have four children.

He has attended many of Cultivate Co-op's events with both middle and high school groups, including the middle school retreat, Power Connection, and Rocky Mountain High.

A fun piece of trivia about Ben is that he was part of the Cultivate team as a college student for the middle school retreat. Now, as a youth pastor, he continues to attend the event and appreciates the lasting partnership between Cultivate and Northwestern College.

Bob Cleveringa lives near Orange City, Iowa, on an acreage where he raises various hobby animals including turkeys and peacocks.

Bob has lived in the same house for 70 years except for four years that he served a church in Jensen, Michigan.

Bob retired from serving in youth ministry in 2021, after 23 years at the Synod of the Heartland and three reformed churches prior to that.

Bob and his wife DeeAnn celebrated their 50th year anniversary this year and also have their own youth ministry with seven children and 26 grandchildren.

Bob’s passion is to continue to see young people grow in their faith and discover their God given gifts.

Cheryl Van Beek has dedicated over 30 years to youth ministry, using every opportunity to invest in the next generation. She currently serves as the Church Advisor and Adult Discipleship Director at First Reformed Church in Rock Rapids. Throughout her ministry journey, Cheryl has played a key role on the youth team advisory board and has also served in support staff at HIS Works.

Cheryl is married to Keith Van Beek, and together they have two adult children—Coryn (married to Eric) and Mitchell (married to Maddie).

Fun fact: Cheryl has traveled to Denmark three times!

LuCinda is the Director of Children and Youth Ministries at Westview Church in Waukee, Iowa, overseeing the faith milestone journey of Westview's attendees from birth through graduation.  She loves seeing faith exploration through the eyes of children with their fearless questions and the genuine "this-is-who-I-am" honesty exhibited in youth.  LuCinda has enjoyed attending several Cultivate Co-op events with her youth group and is excited to help guide future programming.

Outside of work she is married with two teens and spends her time volunteering at the local schools, sporting events, and free community health care clinic.  She also coordinates the local farmers market in the summers, connecting her community with local farmers and vendors.  In any spare time she has you can find her reading a book (or three) or digging in her garden.

One fun fact that most people don't expect is that LuCinda is an Iowa Army National Guard veteran, but had to receive a height waiver to enlist as she is just shy of the 4'10" height requirement

Michael is from Rock Valley, Iowa, and is married to Megan. Together they have 3 kids (Lexi, Aubrey, and Ben). His day job is being a partner at VB&VV, a CPA firm located in NW Iowa. Michael has been a part of HIS Work Camp 6 times, with the most recent 2 coming as part of the Organizing Team. His history within Cultivate Co-op (formerly Synod Youth) events runs deep, tracing back to being a volunteer for MSR and Power Connection throughout college and thereafter.

Although Michael has lived in Northwest Iowa his entire life, he has been and continues to be an adamant fan of the New York Yankees.

Sarah Vander Schaaf grew up on a farm in North Central Iowa and graduated from Northwestern College with a degree in Christian Education/Youth Ministry. Though she didn’t find a full-time ministry role after college, she and her husband, Kevin, found ways to stay involved in youth ministry. She has served as an adult leader at Rocky Mountain High, on support staff, and as a member of the Organizing Team since 2022. She also has a deep love for middle school students, leading her to serve at Power Connection for nearly 15 years.

Sarah now lives in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she works as the Accounting Services Manager at Bethel University. She enjoys being outdoors, drinking good coffee, reading, and exploring new places through camping and hiking—especially quiet mountain hikes in the morning.

Random Trivia: Sarah and her husband, Kevin, were born just six minutes apart! They even discovered their shared birthday while discussing probability in a college math class.

Tim and his wife, Shelby, live in Waterloo, Iowa, with their three children—Toby, Finley, and Anderson. They are active members of Orchard Hill Church in Cedar Falls, where Tim serves as the Worship Arts Director and Shelby works as a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist. Tim has been attending Orchard Hill since the late 1980s and has served on staff for over 20 years.

Passionate about large group experiences that help the next generation encounter and follow Jesus, Tim has been partnering with Cultivate Co-op Ministries since Rocky Mountain High in 1999. Over the past two decades, he has served on worship teams for Rocky, Rocky+, Power Connection, MSR, Seek, ReCon, and more. Since 2005, he has also been a key member of the Organizing Team for RMH, contributing to session programming, hosting, and leading worship in various capacities.

Random Trivia: For many years, Tim held an athletic record at Cedar Falls High School—most red cards received in a single soccer season.

Gabi Noble is a long-time member of the Cultivate community, having grown up attending events and later serving as the Event and Communications Coordinator. In that role, she loved working closely with the organizing teams to plan and bring each Cultivate event to life (see Gabi and Zoe at HIS Work Camp 2025).

Gabi holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and is currently a law student at the Knudson School of Law, where she has a special interest in immigration. She’s passionate about learning people’s unique stories and believes deeply in the power of community rooted in Christ. Gabi is always ready to connect with new people and finds joy in helping others feel seen and welcomed.

Whether she’s starting a spontaneous silent disco party or decorating a folding table with her beloved houseplants, Gabi brings energy and warmth to every space she’s in.

Fun Fact: Gabi and her husband Kody are middle school sweethearts!
